These are all telltale signs of a digestive tract or gut imbalance.
When a dog’s gut is compromised, toxins, harmful bacteria, and undigested proteins can slip through the intestinal walls. What’s known as “intestinal hyperpermeability.”
These “invaders” enter the bloodstream without authorization, igniting imbalances in other parts of the body, such as:
This induced chronic (aka continuous) imbalance throughout the body severely degrades the normal function of your dog’s systems.
Allowed to continue, a cascade of painful diseases can result.
Unfortunately, many of these diseases mirror what we humans suffer from most:
As members of our families, we love our dogs. Maybe more than we love humans.
So it’s no wonder that a pet health insurance industry has sprung up to meet surging demand…
...hitting $3.9 BILLION in 2019 and growing at a 16.3% compounded annual growth rate!
Unfortunately, the traditional fix for these health problems is one or more pharmaceutical drugs.
Drugs that treat symptoms (often with nasty side-effects), but don’t deliver the REAL fix:
Rebalancing and Healing Your Dog’s Gut!
Protein-rich cricket powder, powerful probiotics, and a unique reishi mushroom blend come together in Ultimate Dog’s CHIRP Superfood Topper to provide unparalleled digestive support.
But this nutrient-rich supplement goes beyond healing your pup’s gut. It provides essential nutrients, antioxidants, and amino acids necessary to maintain whole-body health and keep your pooch feeling their absolute best.
You’ll love CHIRP because you know it provides your pup with everything they need to feel good and stay healthy. And your pup will love it because it tastes amazing (to the doggy palette, anyway). In fact, dogs like CHIRP so much, that this topper can double as a means to get even the pickiest of pups to finish their dinner.
Every day we learn more about the importance of the gut microbiome.
The tiny single-celled organisms in our intestines play a huge role in the functioning of our immune system, our emotional well being, and, of course, our digestive health.
The same is true for our furry friends. That’s why we packed our superfood topper with powerful and effective probiotics.
All of the probiotics we use in our CHIRP formula are classed as “soil-based organisms” or SBOs.
SBOs are microorganisms that naturally occur in healthy soil. These single-celled bacteria and yeast help plants thrive by breaking down food, producing nutrients, and protecting against pathogens.
When ingested--something that happens frequently in wild canines--SBOs move into the gut and perform these same beneficial functions. In this respect, they are very similar to traditional probiotic supplements.
Where SBOs differ from other probiotics is in how viable they are when taken in supplement form.
SBOs are tough. They have to be to survive in the harsh environment found in soil. Many of them are capable of forming hard shells around themselves when moisture and food are scarce. They are also more capable of surviving acidic environments like that found in the canine stomach.
Because of these qualities, SBOs do not have to be refrigerated and are more likely to survive and establish in the gut. Put simply: SBOs are the most effective probiotics for use in supplements.
Our unique blend of SBOs consists of two probiotic strains.
The first is Saccharomyces boulardii.
Unlike most supplemental probiotics, S. boulardii is a single-celled yeast, not a bacteria. This distinction gives this powerful probiotic a few advantages over other popular choices.
S. boulardii is larger than most bacteria. This makes it more robust. It is much more likely to survive the trip through the stomach and produces more nutrients and beneficial enzymes than smaller cells.
But most importantly, S. boulardii is unaffected by antibiotic drugs. This means it can help support healthy digestion even while your dog is undergoing treatment for an infection.
Over 250 peer-reviewed articles have looked into the benefits of S. boulardii. These findings suggest that this yeast species may help prevent antibiotic-related diarrhea, protect against E. coli infection, reduce inflammation common to chronic diseases, help fight against leaky gut syndrome, and more.
The second SBO found in our CHIRP Superfood Topper is Bacillus coagulans.
B. coagulans is an especially robust bacterium that, like S. boulardii, is able to survive extremely harsh environments. It has shown great effectiveness in establishing within the canine gut to help support digestion and overall health.
Scientific studies into this probiotic strain have suggested that it may be capable of fighting intestinal infections like E. coli, improve the symptoms of various chronic bowel diseases, and support a healthy inflammation response.
One important factor in maintaining a healthy gut biome is providing these microorganisms with the right kind of food to help them thrive. Probiotics feed on different forms of fiber collectively known as “prebiotics.”
The most common prebiotics come from plant cellulose--a type of fiber that dogs are not well suited to process.
But chitin, the type of fiber found in abundance in insects, is easily processed by the carnivore gut. What’s more, this unique fiber has been shown to be just as effective in nurturing a healthy gut biome as a plant-fiber heavy diet.
The cricket powder we use as the base for our CHIRP topper contains plenty of chitin to help support gut health.
A healthy gut produces a wide array of enzymes to help digest food in the intestines and cleanse the circulatory system.
But stress, illness, and poor nutrition can all have negative effects on this process.
Our fungal-based enzyme blend provides a number of supportive enzymes that the body can quickly utilize to regain balance. And, because these enzymes are sourced from fungus, they are able to survive and thrive in both acidic conditions like what is found in the stomach and alkali conditions like what they will encounter in the small intestine.
Fungal-based enzymes work even where digestion is impaired, ensuring food is
Survive the acidity of the stomach and alkalinity of the small intestine to provide maximum digestive benefit for your dog.
Some of the enzymes found in this blend include:
Which is known to cleanse the bloodstream and remove excess protein from the circulatory system.
Which helps regulate triglyceride and cholesterol levels and can help with weight management.
Which turns starch into energy.
Just about every ingredient in CHIRP has a beneficial effect on the digestive tract. But the benefits they provide don’t stop there.
Nutrient-dense cricket protein provides essential nutrients and fatty acids The base of our CHIRP product is sustainably farmed organic cricket powder.
These little bugs are packed with protein and essential nutrients and are especially high in many vitamins and minerals, including:
Crickets also contain all ten amino acids that dogs must get from their diet because they are unable to produce them themselves.
Additionally, Cricket powder is a great source of antioxidants.
Antioxidants are important for protecting cells against free radicals that cause inflammation and cellular damage.
These substances are most commonly found in fruits and veggies. Insects are one of the few high-protein foods that contain high antioxidant concentrations, making them perfect for supporting whole-body health in carnivores.
Reishi mushrooms are known as the “spirit plant” due to their medicinal properties and ability to relax and fortify the body and mind.
Our CHIRP Superfood Topper contains a full-spectrum medicinal reishi mushroom blend consisting of the three of the purest and most potent reishi mushroom species:
These powerful fungi support the immune system and maintain a healthy inflammatory response, reduce free radicals and tumor growth, and support the cardiovascular system.
We round out our superfood ingredients with organic kelp powder.
Kelp is well known as a natural source of iodine, an important mineral for thyroid health, weight loss, and metabolic health.
But kelp packs a hefty nutrient punch beyond this necessary mineral. It is full of vitamins including vitamins A, B, E, D, and K.
Adding kelp to your dog’s diet can also help reduce tartar build-up and support dental health. It is known to reduce skin irritation and tumor growth, support healthy joints, and maintain a proper inflammatory response.
Every ingredient in CHIRP comes together to support your dog’s whole system.
Here are just a few of the benefits your pup will get from this powerful supplement:
We can’t talk enough about all the great benefits that come from using this superfood topper. But we know you may have some additional questions about this product that are less benefit-centric.
Here are the answers to some of these common questions.
About one-quarter of the human population consistently eat insects as part of their diet. We’re willing to bet that at least twice that many dogs make grasshoppers and flies a normal part of their weekly consumption.
In fact, many wild canines, including coyotes, wolves, and foxes, rely on insects to supplement their diet and add essential nutrients.
As gross as it may seem to those of us who don’t routinely chow down on bugs, crickets and other insects are actually a great source of macro and micronutrients. They contain as much protein as the average slab of meat, pound for pound, and far more antioxidants, more fiber, and more essential amino acids.
Plus, insects require less water and land to produce than any farm animal which makes them a sustainable choice for feeding your carnivore.
CHIRP Superfood Topper contains:
We’re pretty proud of what goes into our superfood topper. But we’re just as proud of what this product doesn’t contain.
CHIRP is free from grains, soy, corn, preservatives, fillers, colorings, and artificial flavors.
To support your dog’s digestion and full-body health, we recommend adding 3g (or half a scoop) per 20 pounds of body weight to your dog’s breakfast or dinner each day.
As with any digestion support supplement, it is best to start slow. Using half the recommended dose for the first five days will help your dog’s system adjust to all the nutrient-packed ingredients without causing diarrhea.
Crickets and mushroom powder may not sound that appetizing to you, but we promise, your pup is going to love it!
